Not sure if this is at all helpful, but my daughter has an IEP (Individual Education Plan) but she is in an international school. It is part of the programme she is in there. At the time of her diagnosis, the swiss proposal was a special school that was not really adapted to her situation so I did not pursue it anymore there, although there was no mention of an IEP or similar either.
I'm so glad I've found these threads. My husband is Swiss. I'm American. I have 4 children with IEPs in Florida (2 disabled, 1 for speech, and 1 for gifted) and we finally got the court's permission to move them overseas but the only thing I'm worried about is schooling. Partly because of their ages and we're English-speaking only (trying to learn German but we are horrible at it) and can't afford private education with so many kids. But more importantly because of their IEPs. Off to google Forderplan (American keyboard and too lazy to figure out how to add an umlaut on a Pixelbook) in Bern.
We have specials schools here for children with special needs. It is called HPS (Heilpädagogische Schule). That is a type of school specialized for many different kids with special needs.
There are also schools that include all kinds of children. But unfortunately that is oftentimes just for saving money (because they don't have enough ressources for these kids).
