Parking for residents & guests in Zurich

Hi

I've recently moved to Zurich (kreis 8008 - Seefeld) and this weekend I have some friends visiting. Is it possible to get some kind of residents' and guests' parking permit?

If not, can anyone recommend a reasonably priced car-park in the district we can use?

Thank you very much

Google finds the following first link on "blaue zone zürich parkieren":

As far as public parking is concerned - http://www.pls-zh.ch/ and check anything that smells like a Zentrale Parkuhr.

Thanks for the information but I don't really understand everything on the website.

To buy a book of 10 day-permits, it mentions 30 days. Does this mean that the 10 tickets are only valid within 30days?

Also it asks for a "Kontrolschild" number. What is this?

Thanks for your help!

Hi Charlotte, You can buy one day parking passes for the blue zone at the Police station for Chf 15. I usually buy a few to have on hand in case I need one. You simply write in your license plate number and the date and place it on the dashboard.

Thanks BizzieBeeCH!

You can also buy them online

and print at home, provided that you know the licence plate number and have a printer

I recently learnt there is a website where you can see all parking lots in the area, including some free ones (!)

http://ch.parkopedia.com/

If you use Google Chrome for browsing, it can automatically translate the site content into English.

Hope this helps!
