parking map

i know the blue/white zone topic was discussed already, but i cannot find any post about map.

so is there any online map of parking zones? i know where i will be living for example, but the owner of the apartement doesn't want to tell me what type of zone is it, because it is supposed to be my job to find it out (swiss star apartments by the way), but i need to know if i can park there my car or not.

so i'm trying hard, but failing any idea how to find it out?

Bit of a weird reaction on the part of the owner but each to their own. How difficult is it to say "It's a blue zone" or "it's a white zone"?

Try putting the address into Google streetview and see if it's there and the parking zone is visible.

I've never heard of any maps giving this information unfortunately.

Maybe these links can help you:

Which Swiss Star apartment are you staying in?

I'd estimate that there is at least a two-thirds majority of blue parking space in the city streets. As a resident you can buy a permanent parking permission for the blue zone. It is valid in the area of your postcode .

it's strange, although she told me it's blue zone outside. i don't know how much of blue zone, and are there any other zones near.

anyways, it is one on Gubelstrasse 64

thanks for the links, but i guess no map ? there might be other zone near...

We once lived in a fairly quiet area, but couldn't find a space in the evening anyway without endless circles, eventually leaving the car miles off! Then they changed it to a blue zone.

Where we now live is way outside city, way up mountain and no markings, no colours. We were told it was free by the council. Until, months later they started sending bills. Things change.

I'm not familiar with the apartments at that address. Where I was staying, Swiss Star arranged for a paid parking spot for me in a nearby car park.

There's to my knowledge no map with all the parking areas available. However this website states that there are both blue and white parking areas at Gubelstr. and Gubelhangstr., and more white ones in Baumackerstr., Franklinstr. and Schulstr.

Blue zone parking space will always be nearby in Zurich. Question is how occupied it is on average. In some blessed areas like Friesenberg it's very easy to find free space, in others you have to invest some time for searching and walking.

they also provide place in a garage for 236 CHF per month. i thought it's a lot, especially in Oerlikon where i thouhgt parking is cheaper, what do you think? is it good offer? maybe i should just take it

as to blue zone, i will not be able to get this resident card very quickly, so i will have to stay in blue zone for longer without it... that probably means a ticket/fine every day or alternative is to use public parking and pay something per day and meanwhile get this card for residents... but there is no public parking very close i suppose...

i guess i might use this 236 a month, but it's just so expensive :/

I pay 110/month for the garage space but this is one that belongs to the city (no space for rent at the moment). 236 Fr. is definitely on the high side - I'd say in Zurich 80-100 for a motorbike garage space and 110-140 for a car garage space are the norm but better check that on homegate.ch.

It's 150 for a one car garage here way outside. But 236 sounds steep to me.
