Parkrun?

Any idea if there is a park run in Zug area.?
I am Swiss , speak English .

They don’t do park runs here. There’s some bureaucratic reason why the Swiss don’t allow it.

There’s an unofficial one in Zug. Here’s the WhatsApp group:

Do you know any other unofficial groups in Zug, causual hiking, bbq, language exchange meetings? Thanks

you can maybe have a look in meetup

Thank you.. I went once but it’s not a Park Run like in London where most people are wanting a friendly jog around. The Zug one is very competitive with people posting up their times and PB’s which is not for me with an unreliable ankle.
It appears that our Swiss regulations make it too complicated to set up official Park Run events as requirements include providing facilities like toilets etc.

Thanks for the feedback. I don’t think I’ll bother with the Zug one.

My sister-in-law, from the US, tries to take part in one whenever and wherever she travels.
I did the last one with her in the UK, through a forest - in the mud!
There was a really good atmosphere - the runners came in all shapes and sizes and there was a genuine welcome for newcomers.
I think a dog (on a lead but still in front) won it!

Switzerland isn’t the only country where bureaucracy gets in the way though as there are a few other countries where they are also not allowed to take place.
France is such a place - because to take part in athletic events, you need a medical certificate from your doctor.
