Paypal debt collection from germany after me

Actually there is - https://www.admin.ch/opc/de/classifi...ndex.html#a249 - benefactor can request the gift to be returned under certain conditions.

I'd return the money to paypal to solve the immediate problem at hand, not sure about collectors fees - clarify whether german jurisdiction really applies and check the german laws if you should pay them, and then go after benefactor here locally if the circumstances didn't allow him to request the gift back and you think you have enough evidence for a case

It's no scam. Plese take this thread seriously.

It would have been simpler to have just put the 200 euros back in the PayPal account. Considering it was a gift and you are not losing anything. You knew PayPal would come after you so the whole thing is partly your fault

Wow, you reached a whole new level!

BTW. Wasn't it you who said in an earlier post he should just ignore this? Now all of a sudden its his fault?

Isn't that what people do? Ignore their own faults?

hello are you a lawyer?

Treaty of Lugano. Well known to any law student. Theres’s a subsidiary issue maybe not yet relevant: if OP pays any part of the demand it re-starts the running of the statute of limitations.

OP is in a position to bargain and settle. The less money he has the better his position. Making him bankrupt in Switzerland implies a longish process of proving facts and law.

Might work if there is no income, no money and no goods. Very highly likely a very bad idea. (since hardly any expat would benefit from such position)

He is not in the position to bargain and settle, also he has the 2.000,- in his pocket (or spend it already)

If he wants the money he should go after the girl, and in the meantime just pay PayPal.

No need to be a lawyer when it comes to common knowledge.
