Pension status now UK third country?

Looking at ch.ch to find some info/links re husband’s upcoming retirement and I see this:

“Switzerland has social security agreements with Australia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Israel, Japan, Kosovo, North Macedonia, Montenegro, the Philippines, Quebec, San Marino, Serbia, Turkey, the USA and Uruguay. Citizens of these countries who wish to draw their OASI pension abroad should contact the Swiss Compensation Office in Geneva. It will tell you which authorities to contact and how payment abroad works.”

Does this mean the UK has no agreement with Switzerland for Swiss pensions to be paid out if you move back to the UK? I assume when the UK was part of the EU it was possible to get it paid in the UK, but I haven’t found anything that says what happens now.

Hm, looking at the ahv-iv.ch leaflets it says there is an agreement with the UK. So ch.ch is wrong or ahv-iv is?

Which one was updated most recently. I suspect it was the AVS one as I’m pretty sure that Switzerland has concluded bi-lateral agreements with the UK.

In my experience Ch.Ch is a bit slow in updating their information.

ahv one says 1st January 2022.

I believe this is covered in the “mind the gap” agreement. under citizens’ rights.

Certainly, the UK pays my pension here and I also get the annual increases.

Well, I hope so. I’m just trying to work out whether we can get our Swiss pensions transferred to the UK when we move back hopefully some time next year. I’ve already been getting both of mine for a few years now, though my UK one is paid into my UK account and the Swiss one into our Swiss account, but husband is still working for a few more months until he reaches retirement age.

I would say that makes it pretty much up to date and reflects the bi-lateral agreement between the UK and Switzerland.

But the detailed info is only in German, French or Italian

Okay following on, I’ve just tried the online calculator at ahv-iv to try and get an idea of what hubby’s pension will be. Entered his info and last year’s salary, entered my details with no salary since I already get the pension from them and it comes up with 3 figures: one for me (which is more than I get now) and then something called Second Pension for Couple which gives 2 figures. Does this mean we get both figures under Second Pension for Couple and I lose the First pension one? That’s what it looks like to me. Just trying to get some vague idea of the amount of money we’ll have monthly so I can try and work out how much we’ll probably have to cut back on. I know he’s got his company pension to come as well, but I have a rough figure for that.

The pension for married couples and couples is limited to 150% of a maximum single pension, currently CHF 3,585.

So when your other half retires and you are entitled to the maximum then they would split the CHF 3,585 between you.

Seems you are together only entitled to 3,178 which they have decided to split between you based on some unknown formula.

I would guess because husband hasn’t been working here his whole life so not made the full payments that would happen if he had.
