Personal finance software that handles CH and USA accounts?

I’m sorry if this has been discussed before, I searched but did not come up with anything recent… I have accounts at both Swiss and American institutions. Is there financial software that will handle downloads for both? I’ve been using Quicken for 20 years but it doesn’t do downloads from Swiss banks, including as far as I can tell, Swiss-based UBS accounts. Not looking for anything too fancy, just would like to be able to see all of my balances and investments in one place. Thank you.

Any luck?

My own current understanding is:

  • the entire Swiss banking sector is hell-bent on not allowing any access to account data to anybody, for any reason, unless you’re an enterprise using enterprise-level, Swiss accounting software (Abacus, Bexio, etc.)
  • some brave souls at SaltEdge have implemented some screen scraping for a few Web Frontends of Swiss Banks (Postfinance, Raiffeisen, StGaller KB) and a few apps offer access to that (Buxfer, Spendee, Toshl, Wallet by budgetbakers), but that’s very unreliable. See my thread “Expense Tracking Software with automatic sync to a Swiss Bank”. Still, those do support both USA and CH accounts, so perhaps you get better experience. There is also Pocketsmith that claims to support a different small set of banks, so probably they use a different connection method. If your bank is is on that list - it might work.
  • OpenBanking is a standard in the EU and has been for a while. Most mainstream banks support it and seem to work fine. In Switzerland things have been moving very slowly. You can google for “open banking schweiz” and see lots of frankly ridiculous articles over the past few years. AFAICS the current state of affairs is that SIX Group has built a platform called bLink that could be the solution for everybody, but AFAIK no expense tracking app uses it yet. I have hope though.
