Personal trainer certification course

Hello,

I am looking for somewhere to get certified as a personal trainer. I live in Geneva and I need the education to be in English.

Does anyone know of any organisations offering certification programmes near Geneva?

Thank you!

Hey Klinka,

How did it go with your search for getting certified as a Personal Trainer? Did you manage to get started?

Am also looking to get certified, but I have no idea where to look.

Cheers..

I also live in CH and looking to certify myself. One of the very best worldwide is ACSM CPT course from the US (study yourself with 3 books) http://www.acsm.org/get-certified It is the gold standard for personal training certifications and it is in english...i.e: exam is in english when taken here in CH!

Hope this helps. PS: it is a TOUGH course - the hardest one out there and btw, one of the most highly respected qualifications to have as a PT. Best of Luck.

I'm a personal trainer certified through American Consul of Exercise.

Do you know if that certificate is valid throughout Switzerland, more specifically in Basel?

Yes it is valid. But better get the very respected Personal Super Trainer Extra Quality Certificate Switzerland by aSwissInTheUS. It comes with special framing in a stone pine frame, a free Swiss Army Pocket Knife spotting our logo and your accreditation number, a T-shirt in the traditional Edelweiss look, and a bottle of wood chipping scent. You can have it for 8 simple payments of just CHF 89.95 (includes tax) + shipping cost. Valid in all cantons including Ticino and Appenzell Ausserrhoden.

Or in other words: Personal Trainer is not a regulated profession. Anyone can call themselves Personal Trainer and offer services as a Personal Trainer. No diploma or certificate whatsoever is needed. In conclusion any certificate is "valid".

It sounds good, I might give it a try.

Another question is :

What is the hourly rate of a full time personal trainer with 4 years of experience in avarage.

OTOH one does need to have a valid permit to live and work here before offering services as a personal trainer. Just in case a stack of non-EU folks read this thread later and think it's a great idea to move here and start a training biz to get rich.

Don't worry mate!

I'm just looking answers.
