Pet travel agent

Hello!

I'm looking for a pet travel agent that can move my dog from Switzerland (Roche, Vaud) to Loughborough.

Thank you.

I've not heard of pet travel agents, but I was a business travel consultant for the last 10yrs in the U.K. and have booked pets on flights quite a few times. Your vet should be able to put you in touch with a specialist pet transport company, but you should be able to do this yourself.

This is something that you need to arrange directly with the airline that you will be flying with, but please make enquiries before booking your flights. The reasons are that you need to be sure there's space for your pet on the flight you want, and that the route you're flying is one of the approved pet import routes to the U.K.

You might want to contact Ace Pet Moving:

I have not used them myself, as I am still here. But when contemplating moves some years ago I corresponded with them and was impressed. Obviously this is just a starting point, you must do your own due diligence.

There’s also FetchaPet which was formerly Par Air, the first UK/European specialist company in moving pets.

Had a BBC series done about them some years ago, but it seems that the couple who started it have probably retired since.

I think you've just found my perfect job!

When? Could have brought him over 2 days ago... and we are close to both start and destination!

My mistake - it wasn’t the Beeb who made the series, but Animal Planet.

It’s called Pet Passport - you might be able to find it as a DVD possibly. Hasn’t been shown on telly for some years.

Very strange that you are looking to move a dog from and to exactly the same destination as another member whom I quoted for doing and never heard back after I provided a quote.

Have reported the post as suspicious.

Which post and poster + when? Never noticed the other one.

Mod hat on:

Do not start a passive-aggressive war with forum members here.

Personal things should be discussed by PM.

Nathyb posted about moving a dog, the collection town in Switzerland and the delivery town in the UK were the same. Nathyb didn't put the details on the forum post, but in a pm to me.

In which case, your comment is a bit harsh Glowjupiter. If someone has posted the same request on separate threads with different names? No?

It would certainly make me hesitant to get involved, even though locations are perfect and we do the journey often and know all the ins and outs of traveling ch to uk with dogs.

In this case, please write to that poster in her thread, and without being passive-aggressive. Thank you.

It is not known if the OP of this thread and the person StephenR is talking about are the same.

Passive-aggressive acts aren't on. Attacking someone without knowing that they're the person you're intending to attack isn't on either.

If you want to report a post, you can do so without being passive-aggressive, stating your reason for the report in the report message box so that the mods are in the clear as to what your problem with the reported post is.

We use Ace to move out two cats over here from the UK this summer, they were excellent!

I used ACE pet moving a year ago moving from California to Switzerland. ACE pet moving was GREAT! Highly recommended.

Bennyboo - great to hear, I just started corresponding with ACE regarding a possible move from California to Switzerland later this year. Did you by chance use a moving company for your household goods, if so who is it and would you recommend them?

Hi, we used KellerSwiss group for relocation. We used them as it was offered by our employer. They were very good. They did the packing for us very professional. No issues. Good luck with your move!
