After managing to get a nice bleeding scrape on my leg, I'm aware that a scab is in my future. Then comes the debate: leave it alone or pick it off?
I might get a scar, slow down the healing, or just make it bleed, if I peel
it off. But on the other hand it feels good.
Does anyone else ever have to debate this?
Picking scabs is one of life's pleasures. But not a spectator sport.
No debate! Leave it alone
or perhaps just a little pick at the edges where it is coming off anyway...
Sadly enough, I know the correct answer is to leave it alone, unless there are mitigating circumstances.
But, I just can't help myself and fiddle and pick at them until they are gone.
Oh, well...
Lets meet and share the scab
Depends if it's a keeper or not...
Are these genital scabs ?
I say rip it off...because in any case, if it's too early another one will form and you get the chance to leave that one alone
No scabs, no scars, no proof.
Yeah... I only pick the ones I want to keep as well.
If the wound is deep it's better not to pick it because there could be scaring afterwards, and/or you could cause an infection to the would. Keep the area hydrated by applying AloeVera oil or moisturiser, and pick your nose instead!
MRs.T
apply copious amounts of vitamin E (you can get them from Bodyshop) to minimise scarring. I got into a bike accident when I was 16 and my entire right side of the body was covered in scratches and abrasions, which later became scabs.
I had a great time picking them off. It was strangely satisfying.
Friday appears to have come early.
One should leave them alone.
I like to pick mine. Got a beauty a month or so ago when I was knocked off my bike and skinned on my elbow.
What's wrong with scars? I was most disappointed when the one across my throat (surgery, not careless shaving) faded to barely visible.
Would go with some green argil too.
Remember that picking and peeling can be repeated several times over the life of the wound. "Attending" to my MTB legs while relaxing on the sofa gives far more pleasure than watching Swiss TV. As for extra scarring, think of it as a diary entry
LOL!! I can never leave it there, I have to peel it off.
