Playlist help

I am no music aficionado and need help with song ideas please. I want to make a playlist on Apple Music of proper cheesy tunes that make you get up and dance at a party or wedding. I hoped Apple might already have one, but had no luck with my searches. I'm talking songs that you can dance to that everyone knows, that you can sing along to etc.

Examples; Macarana, Tragedy, Amarillo, Living' on a Prayer etc

Please add your ideas ........

Thanks

Earth Wind & Fire, Boogie Wonderland. Anything by, as Pancakes suggests, Kool. Best show evah in Vegas!

When we got married (almost 20 years ago ) we were in a similar situation: we're not music snobs, and we wanted to please everyone, especially given that around half the guests were our parents' generation i.e. Boomers.

I was amazed that I still have a copy of our playlist! Below are our instructions to the DJ and the song list. Hope it provides some inspiration!

*************

We’ve roughly categorised the songs and have classified them in two different ways. Songs we’d really like to hear played have been marked with a star. The others are suggestions from our own list of personal favourites. However, we realise that due to time constraints, the mood of the crowd, and other factors not all of these songs will be played. It’s our aim (and perhaps yours, too) to keep the dance floor packed all night long, and make sure everyone has a great time!

We’re really quite flexible about the order of things, and we’d like to make it possible for our guests to request songs. So if someone REALLY wants the chicken dance or the Macarena that’s fine (if it makes them happy why rain on their parade...) but we’d like to request that you not play songs in poor taste (e.g. “it’s getting hot in here” or “the thong song”).

Spotify has "cheesy party song" playlists. You could probably access the lists and note down the songs with just the free version.

Anyway... Agadoo by Black Lace
