Are you talking about CH or UK? I'm getting a bit muddled.

My CH license is plastic. Do they issue paper ones, like they do paper B permits for EU citizens?

They used to until 15 years ago or so.

I got a plastic one in 2004.

OP was talking about the Swiss one, then others stepped in to confuse the situation.

All of MY posts have been concerning Swiss licenses, as per the OP.

From where did get this information. I did not find any such provision in the VZV. Only that over 70 years old (75 years in the future) have to do a medical or the license will be void. But that applies to the paper as well as to the plastic license.

I too lived in Switzerland for 6.5 years. I am back in the UK for now with my first car which i drove back from switzerland and is all imported. The problem im having is my driving licence too to exchange it from a swiss one to an english one and this has been going on for 7 months now. Sadly the royal mail has lost my swiss licence. Thankfully back in september last year, i took a photo of it before i sent it off for exchange purposes so it is currently still in date so far. DVLA want to check the validity of the licence and confirmation from swiss. Which i lived in thurgau canton frauenfeld at the time of the driving exam (German region). Even though i sent off 5 application forms would this be proof of exchange if my swiss driving licence expires.

Any advice would be appreciated.

I could be entitled to receiving a Swiss full driving licence after passing my three year probation. Would I still get that if i’m living in UK and no longer a resident of Switzerland?

I doubt you’d get a Swiss licence if you’re not living here any more.

As for the application forms only the DVLA could tell you if that’s proof enough for them.
