I know this is a long shot, but I look for an employment.

My RAV journey is over next month, with over 1500 applications and just a handful of interviews I have nothing. I feel like I tried it all - tailored almost every second motivation letter and CV, contacted people and companies directly, sought for advises and feedbacks.

The problem might me I look like a job hopper, which is fair, but all of it has its reasons. The last one is the most unfortunate one - my wife had a really bad postpartum period and I had to step in. Now, when everything is alright again, I really want to work.

What I offer:

- Extensive sales, client-focused and procurement experience

- Focus on ESG & Sustainability

- English & B2 German speaker

I will be dedicated to the job, forever thankful and I am driven to stay in the job for as long as possible, hitting all the KPIs, targets and numbers . My salary does not need to be high, just to cover mine and my toddler's expenses. I preferably look for an office job, so I can continue to build up my experience.

What type of permit do you hold?

Have you tried Zurich airport? There are many job openings and they hire only if you re fluent in English and of course German. Good luck

I have a B permit and thanks to my wife I will have B permit in the future as well.

I have not tried Zurich airport - I will have a look at the positions there, thank you.

Temporary jobs are often easier to get than permanent ones.

As the holiday season approaches there should also be more temporary jobs in retail and in warehouses. Search job-room.ch and indeed.ch on “Hilfsarbeiter” and similar for unskilled jobs.

Why do you got only a permit B ?

When did you arrived here in switzerland ?

I am 54 ,done around 1000 applications in 14 months, had around 5 interviews

but those who made an offer want to pay a lot less (2000 sfr per month) and one offer was really terrible , i sould work 70 hours a week (14 hours a day in 5 days), and 40 hours will be paid, the other 30 i work for no money at all, because i need to do my part for the company because of covid 19.

In the hotel industry currently there are no purchasing manager positions in the closer area of zurich, only in the middle of nowwhere (vierwaldstätter see), so you need a room from the hotel (cost another 1000 sfr per month).

The RAV was no help at all, but i got a second job, security which i done part time, since march 2021 i am doing fulltime.it is sometimes hard, but there are no other options to pay my bills.

It is sometimes very simple to make the job, being available all the time, working day or night, weekends as well.

99 % of the time , you don't have to fight,you are there , control areas or people, thats all.

What 'actual' qualifications do you have ?

How much study and effort would it take to get your B2 to C1 ?

Have you focused with RAV always in the same area or looked a re-training or alternative career paths ?

Generally, around Zurich, the companies want 'native speaker' German admin staff who can cover over the language deficits in the management/specialist team.

What is your mother tongue ? Have to leveraged this for jobs in teaching English, customer service or companies that work with expats.

Do you have any hobbies, interests or passions which could lead do something very different ?

Are you a member of any clubs, volunteer groups - joined the local volunteer firefighters ? sports ? red cross ?

These things are not as much about 'work experience' as about networking.

Were all your job hunting activities focused on advertised jobs in the 'newspaper' format or did you also target every single contact you have - how many people do you have connected on your LinkedIn profile ?

I would also say, whilst I can respect your focus area of 'environmental' 'ethical' etc it's still prettty 'fringe' for the mainstream administration and procurement sector.... I even had to look up what 'ESG' meant...

My perception would be that anyone who wants to come into the procurement sector with an 'ESG and Sustainability' focus is going to want me to choose options that are more expensive and cost my business money....

But as I said, I don't think that's the main barrier - the main barrier would be:

a) living in Frauenfeld

b) not having the contacts

c) not having C1/Native German

d) not having a specific highly qualified, specialist trained career path that fits a specific high-demand job situation.

The last jobs I got were mainly through my network. Are you on LinkedIn or something like that?

Use your network, you never know who may know someone who knows someone who can put in a word for you.
