We have an unfitted washing machine that we use in the kitchen. Currently we have a metal 22mm-3/4" adaptor attached to the tap so we can screw the washing machine water pipe on when we need to.
The problem with this is that regularly screwing the plastic pipe fitting onto the metal adaptor, we end up ruining the thread and need to replace the pipe.
Can anyone recommend a better solution to temporarily attach the washing machine to the kitchen tap? Previously i've seen push-fit attachments and vice-like fittings that fit over the tap, but I've not seen anything similar in Switzerland, certainly not in OBI.
Well its just a guess but are your kitchen taps connected underneath the sink by flexible metal hose pipes?
If they are you can buy a two way adaptor to fix onto them that will allow you a permanent connection to your water supply. As i said, its just a guess.
Wow, what a coincidence! I recently got rid of a washing machine. Didn't get any beers though... hint hint
If going under the sink, as Grumpygit suggests (and is what we did), doesn't work, what about the "hosepipe" style attachments that people use in their gardens for water hosepipes and cobbling something together?
I believe there are a few with your name on them when one of us sees you next
We got the water inlet connected to the tap last night with some clippy on/off thingy's (I'll let mirfield give a more technical description ) and now just need to find a better solution for the water draining out as currently it's going out of the sink's waste pipe and is connected in a way that makes it difficult to connect and disconnect frequently. This means the kitchen cupboard is permanently open
thanks for the tips everyone (except GG - cheeky devil ).
mimi. you can buy a ubend with a second inlet for the washing machine waste pipe that will allow you to connect it from behind the cupboard. If you do it yourself, keep an eye on it the first few times as the volume of water draining out my be too much for the pipe and flood back.
This is pretty much what we have set up but sadly I can't get behind the cupboards to make it a permanent fixture without damaging the units, hence the door remaining open all the time
Just to give you a heads up, make sure you don't over- or under-load the machine - it did sometimes "go for a walk" and if your fixings are temporary you could end up with a lot of damage...
Pipe thread and hose adapter thread are different ,this is why you ruining your thread. What you need is a coupling with a pipe thread to the thread of the flex hose of the washing machine. The flex hose to the "Eisenwahren handlung" and ask for the proper coupling ,3/4(22MM) or whatever. And don`t forget the washer(Dichtungs ring)
