PO Box in France while living in Switzerland

It seems that no matter where I look for it, I cannot get the exact thing I want in Swiss. So I resorted back to my usual habit of online ordering but of course I realized that custom is REALLY high and delivery is SLOW . So since yesterday I have this idea of renting a PO Box in France and picking up my items there.... Anyone has any suggestion? Also does anyone know about PO box in France and how to open one?

PS I live in Lausanne and can go across the lake to France easily (or so I think )

with the official *Poste* I think you need to have a french address, but you have several possibilities like this one : http://www.ubidoca.com/_en/ or http://www.courrier-du-voyageur.com/...te_postale.php

And if you have friends there, you could ask them....

As much as it pains me to agree with BG, it's true- you need to be a resident in the commune where you want to rent a PB.

Knock yourself out reading this: bp.pdf

Does it pain you to agree with me or because it's true

Wooohahahaha (sardonic laugh)

(well, I just wanted to use my sardonic laugh once...)

Thanks for the replies.....I guess this idea is doomed to failure

Possibly yes, possibly no. In larger communes, post office managers may be interested to have additional POB-holders for a variety of reasons. And post office managers in places like Ferney-Voltaire (and other Région Genevoise communes) may have an open mind for your request. So that you might try, in personal direct approach.

Are there updates or new opinions on the topic discussed?

somewhere else in the forum are the details of where you can get the post office to hold the package for you for a few euro, you dont need an account or post box, its just delivered to the post office.

You can have it sent to : Your name, Post Restante, Post Office, Street, Town, France.

They charge about €3 and keep it for a week, then it gets sent back.

I think the service is only for letters and small parcels, you need to ask.
