P.O. Box in Germany or similar.

Hi!

I use to buy boardgames to Amazon.de, and I'm quite happy with their service. They mail to Switzerland for free as long I spend more than 20€. But there are many other interesting stores in germany that don't mail to Switzerland (or at least, they don't do it at a reasonable price), while they deliver for free within Germany. So I thought that maybe I can have a postal box office in Germany. I live in Basel, so I'm quite close to Weil am Rhein and Lörrach. I checked it in the german post webpage, and they offer this service, but only if you live in Germany. Does someone know any other option?

Thanks!

Should help.

I have an address in Jestetten, which is a bit closer to Zurich than Konstanz. I registered via http://www.lieferadresse-deutschland.org .

If the store uses Hermes postal service you can arrange for the games to be sent via Hermes to a German Hermes collection point near you. Then you can collect from the collection point at no extra charge.

I have a micro-patent firm in Baselland, and I get searches done at the UK Patent Office for clients. Reason: very cheap and quite quick. The UK Patent Office will deliver to anywhere in the EEA, which doesn't include Swizzieland. So, I thought, a PO Box in Lörrach would be just the shot (the Lörrach post office is literally across the road from the railway station). I approached Deutsche Post - flat refusal, because I wasn't resident in Germany. Well, I said, what if someone resident in Germany did it for me? No problem, they said, and fell over themselves to help me. So I got a German-resident friend to do it for me. One-time €15 charge.

BUT - letters only, no parcels no Amazon deliveries. This suited me fine, but it might not suit everyone.

there are 2 or 3 drop points for parcels etc in weil. i cant remember all the names but its been discussed on here many times. You pay a few euro for them to accept the parcel and they are professional outfits.

1 that i know is called LAS-BURG and have had no complaints.

REGARDING https://www.deutsche-lieferadresse.com/ i would NOT use bohlers auto service for a mail drop - i know this place very well and it is just a car garage.

I also live in Basel and use Las-Burg. Easy, good opening times and cheap!

Thanks a lot to everybody!

This las-burg.de seems exactly what I was looking for. Any feedback about how it works? My german is still not good enough to understand all that is written in their flyer.

You can fill in the Anmeldeformular on their site and (if I remember correctly) they will email you your customernumber with the adress etc. When ordering things from Amazon or etc you give your Name c/o LAS Burg + customernumber, adres etc... LAS-Burg email you when the delivery has arrived. On your first visit there you'll have to have your ID with you and you will get a plastic card from them and will have to give them a pincode for your pass. Getting the next parcels you can use the card and identify yourself with that pincode so no ID needed any more. I don't remember paying anything for the card and you pay a small fee per parcel (depending on the size). For me it has worked perfectly every time!
