No, pork scratchings are a delightful english delicacy, composed as far as I can see, 100% from lard. They taste like salty lard, coated in lard, with extra lard on the side. I would imagine for a similar sensation, you could deep fry your own mucus. I am slightly bewildered why the op would want to recreate this most noxious and foul culinary experience, I'd have assumed never having to eat pork scratchings again would be a major plus of living in CH...
I'm willing to bet my right arm that the Zweifel variety don't come with real pig hair still attached, which for some reason is considered a bonus, nay a necessity by those who think that pork scratchings are edible
I'm sure you're right as they're (apparently) made from corn flour rather than being actual pork skins cooked crispy.
I try not to eat snacks like that very often so when I do, I am "picky"... these have a nice bacon-y flavor with a perfect amount of saltiness.
My only issue with these (and many other similar formed snacks, like the Paprika shells) is that the pieces are large enough that they scratch up the roof of my mouth. Ah well, one more reason to avoid eating them very often.
Assuming you want it for your dog, landi is selling that in the pet food section in 1 and 2 kg bags. Pig ears as well. I personally don`t understand why you want to eat pig skin. Do you nibble on the lether couch too? You also could chew on a piece lether, i think that could be a good idea to loose weigth. A frazzle lether must last for weeks to chew on.
Its L ea ther, and no i dont. But you will be delighted to hear that eBay helped me out, and since my post 2 years ago, i have been bathing in fried swine-fat.
