I have been carrying the same telephone number between employers for years. I will be leaving my current employer and taking a 6 month sabbatical before starting a new job in Autumn.
Can anyone recommend a monthly subscription phone company that I can port my number to and then port it out again once I start my new role?
Thanks, I guess what I’m looking for is a short term contract that still allows porting (without issue) at both ends. I’ll check out Yallo, with Sunrise I seem to remember they were pretty sticky in not wanting me to leave.
I switched to Spusu and the abos are monthly, so you should have no problem leaving in 6 months. I cannot confirming that, but I do not see what the issue could be.
I’ve kept my number through about six or seven different companies. Still 079 although haven’t used Swisscom for at least 10 years.
Swiss mobile telephone numbers use the prefix 07X, where “X” indicates the specific operator. These prefixes are assigned as follows:
• 075: Swisscom, Wingo
• 076: Sunrise, Lebara, yallo, Quickline, TalkTalk, Aldi Suisse
• 077: Lycamobile, M-Budget Mobile, Mucho, Wingo
• 078: Salt (formerly Orange), Coop Mobile, UPC
• 079: Swisscom, Wingo.
Although these prefixes originally identified specific operators, number portability allows users to retain their numbers when switching providers. As a result, the prefix no longer guarantees the current operator
M-Budget offers 10.- per month, unlimited calls in CH with 2GB data. Cancellable monthly, the 2 years you see mentioned applies to the 50% rebate as the normal rate is 20.- per month. Carrier is Swisscom.
