I've been looking through the forum, but only found some older threads. I would like to send money from my PoFi account to either a new Swiss PayPal account or my old German PayPal account, but it doesn't seem to work.
I only have the normal PoFi cash card.
Is this something I need to give up?
I use often PayPal to Postfinance business account for transfer of charity donations. The PayPal charges quite a commission for that.
Any particular reason why it shouldn't be working the other way around?
I have an income in Switzerland, but not in Germany, so my German bank account will be depleted soon if I keep using a Paypal account that draws from it.
We have successfully transferred from a postfinance account to a switzerland paypal account. I think they need that the names of both should match exactly - i think you may need to open a new paypal account at paypal.ch. Don't remember the criteria exactly. But i do remember that they make a deposit in the account and then a code is used to verify the bank account with the paypal id. You could write to paypal or ask for a call back to see if you need to do anything particular.
Thank you, jain, I tried opening a new account, but my PoFi card is not a credit card, which seems to be required. Or am I doing something wrong?
I think one can link a bank account directly without having to link a credit card. I didnt link a credit card. Currently I think a safer bet for you would be to call them (they do speak in english) and get the entire details.
Thanks! I can't seem to get anywhere without registering a credit card... I speak German, so maybe I can try tomorrow during my lunch break...
It seems to work now! Thanks, everyone!
Great, how did it finally work out for you? after a call or a special link. maybe helpful to others.
to Link your bank details to paypal, you will need to give them the details of the account. Not sure if the address you use for your bank account has to be the same as the address you use for paypal (I presume you can update your paypal address details).
Paypal will then send money to your bank account, not sure if they do it once, twice or three times. You need to then advise paypal of the amount received and probably the date received (it will be something between 0.01 and 0.99). At some future point they will take back those cents from your account, but not for a while.
Once the above procedure is complete, you can then send money from your bank to paypal.
you can request paypal to get the money from your bank, but I find it faster to send it from the bank to paypal. Seems when I requested paypal to get the money it took a few days and then I had to wait to buy.
I believe if want to return money from paypal to your bank account in Switzerland they make a charge, as I read that previously on EF.
In the UK I am not charged to either get paypal to send to my bank account or to pay from my account to paypal.
Paypal do like to get you to link your credit card to the account after you have linked your bank account, but I prefer not to give them so many of my details.
I believe some buyers only link their credit card to the paypal account and not their bank account, some use paypal and at point of paying, give their credit card details but do not link it to the paypal account.
