According to my research, there is a place called Dynamo just by the river across Swiss National Museum where you can rent a wheel to do your pottery. Just thought you might like to know

True, but they only allow you to rent it if you have had an introductory course there and they are always booked out :S
I tried for months and then gave up... well, it was also during the pandemic.
Other options in Zurich are the Gemeinschaftszentrum:
My absolute favorite is Frjz in Uster: 5 min from the station by foot, very acceptable pricing, the teachers are mostly volunteers and it's just an easy going and enjoyable place. Some teacher speak english, Spanish or Italian, although most of them are Swiss German, I think. you can also handbuild and bring there the things to glaze and fire.
Nowadays there are also a lot of private little pottery studios where they might rent out the wheel if you ask. (some examples: Loki, die kleine topferei, Roka,...)
