My trainer at Ghetto Gym in Langstrasse also does some Oly lifting work with me, although we need to get more weight increments, but if several people wanted to do Oly lifting training then this can be arranged.
Also a former colleague of mine at UBS is into powerlifts so I can ask him for advice if you like.
i asked for powerlifting just because otherwise people confuse my request with normal gym with tons of stupid machines and no lifting stuff.
i'd like to do strenght training with squat rack, deadlift, bench. and of course i'd like to learn clean and maybe other kind of lifting.
in my current gym i can do more or less some lifting but i don't have a squat rack so i have to use a smith machine, but you know is totally different.
and most important in my current gym there isn't trainer so nobody can help me to learn.
going in a gym with other lifters is useful, just watching other guys is helpful to learn something. and if there is a good trainer it's awesome.
do i have to take an appointment for the ghetto gym?
other ones near wiedikon?
They mention Davids Gym on that thread but I have never been there so cannot confirm what is there.
If you want to try out Ghetto Gym or to see if Angel can offer training at Balboa which has the rack etc then you can contact [email removed]. Ghetto Gym and Balboa are more class based but I am sure they would let you just go there and train outside of class times if you coordinate it with them. Rather than big chains like Holmes Place or Silhouette these are independent places run by trainers themselves.
Reebok Crossfit Club Zurich also has the concept of open gym where you can just go along and train by yourself if you are a member, or you can pay per session. And they have a lot of free weights etc. Their site is http://www.crossfitzuerich.ch .
There is a WL gym close to Aarau in Oberentfelden, I went there once and the trainer seemed to me very well prepared
In the last months 2 new gyms get open in Aarau.
- Basefit: low price, I never went there but I went to a Zürich one, i have mixed feeling about. I may change it when I see the Aarau one.
- onlyfitness: I never went there but from the website it seems not suited for powerlifting at all, I could be wrong.

In the while I build my own home gym in the basement, yes It's small and I had to move around all the stuff I had in the basement, And of course it's expensive, but I can do what I want, when I want
