I will be doing the Kleine Scheidegg walk from Grindelwald to Lauterbrunnen with a 7mth old baby. Can anyone tell me if the walk is pram friendly (mountain buggy) or if I should bring my BabyBjorn (which will be painful towards the end as my little tike is 8.5kg)?
Can anyone suggest any scenic day walks which are accessable by pram in the Jungfrau region?
There are plenty of good paths around Kleine Scheidegg, but I wouldn't consider them all to be pram friendly. I don't know about a specific route through from Grindelwald.
I knew a couple (and it wasn’t us!) who used to take both the pram and the huck-a-pack on some of their wilder walks. They used the pram till the going got too steep or two rough, then either left the pram till they came back down to collect it (Grîndelwald to Faulhorn in winter) or used the pram like a ‘wheelbarrow’, if necessary with a rope to pull up the slope or brake coming down and the other person pushing while the baby was safely in the huck-a-pack!. Seems to have worked quite successfully – they are all still alive and well.
In Grindelwald they did Männlichen to the Kleine Scheidegg and First to Faulhorn too. I believe they used a bus to get to the starting for a walk to First. Mind you, they did say something about getting some funny looks from other walkers and some folk wanted to take photos!
