Premium quality fitted wardrobes

Hi folks,

looking at furnishing apartment with higher quality built in wardrobes and potentially in the future changing kitchen in that direction too, but focusing on wardrobes now. You know, one of those not-rich-enough-to-buy-cheap-stuff approach.

Anybody can please recommend a good brands that focus on higher quality (doesnt have to be ultra over the top), but not in Pfister style ('oh we so classy here pay 1000 chuffs for a slightly different chinese-made quality led lamp').

Been looking at Sabag (they have rather small representation in Romandie unfortunately, but friends from behind rosti-graben do recommended them). Anybody can recommend other swiss-wide or romandie-based companies?

The other venue is to contact local carpenters but its much more about trust since they probably won't be able to see showroom full of samples. Also price wise not sure if that wouldn't skyrocket.

I don’t know just how prevalent they are in your part of Romandie but it might be worth taking a look at Schmidt.

Friends of ours had both their kitchen and bedroom/dressing furniture from them and they have been very happy with it which is a good endorsement to me as she is a very picky Italian who likes things to be perfect.

I installed Poliform (Italian) stuff in my first and second properties. Love them! Would have love their kitchen too, but installing that would be too complicated.

Ordered them via an interior designer who did all the measurements and ordered them from Italy but she's herself moved back to Italy now. Interior designers get huge discounts.

It costs only a little more than Pfister, but so much nicer!

The reality is there is not a lot of difference between sliding door cupboards once you get above the basics of Ikea. The main difference is the door mechanism and interior fit outs. The cost of the interior can be higher than the wardrobe but it is still cheaper to use ready made items than custom built. One approach is to use Micasa or Mobile Pfister’s wardrobe configuration for the interior and get a local carpenter to supply the doors and tracks. Flush mounted sliding doors are a good option if you take this approach. https://www.hafele.co.uk/en/product/…1/P-00875596/
