We are looking for a private kindergarten (2 years pre-school) for my 3.5 years old boy. He will be 4 this summer, but still too young to be accepted by public pre-school (Kindergarten).
We live in Uster, ZH. There is a Private Kindergarten in Uster, however, they are closing down this year. Do anyone know any palce near Uster ?
You could try the Montessori school. IG Kinderwerkstatt. at Dubendorf. They definitely have a Kindergarten programme from age 3. Not sure if it's too far to travel from Uster....
I understood that children have to go for at least 1 year compulsory in a public kindergarten as a requirement to school.
Does anyone knows if the time spent in a private kindergarten is taken also in consideration? Or, only the time spent in a public kindergarten is the only accepted period?
You need to ask the kindergarten if they are accredited and following the public curriculum. If they are, then time there counts the same as in local schools.
Where we are it's two years compulsory kindergarten.
To the OP: Just in case you are not familiar with Rudolf Steiner schooling, you should read about it before you go. I am not saying it is bad...actually one should check any school or kindergarten...but there were questions about Rudolf Steiner before. Here is a thread with a lot of info:
As in any other childminding places,parents stay with children the first few days to help them accommodate with the new place. The women that runs the place speaks perfect English and French so you can find out more about her kindergarten .the outside space and the quality of the toys is great.she even makes little puppet plays.
