Product to clean ceramic stovetop

Where can I find a product to clean a ceramic stovetop, and what is the best product?

I use a spray from Migros called Potz Ceramic when the hob is cold. I spray it on and wipe off with soft kitchen paper.

For any food spills that need more elbow grease I use a gentle cream cleaner called CERACLEN 3 in 1, made by Reckit Benckiser. I also use a small amount of this every few weeks on the inside of the glass door of my oven. It's in a small black bottle with a red/black label.

I'm not sure what is the BEST product, but we use a few different things on ours, depending on how dirty it is, etc.

Like Cherub mentioned above, we also use the stuff that is like a white cream that you rub onto the stovetop and then wipe away (and then rinse with a clean wet cloth). The one we usually use is this:

I believe we buy ours at the large Coop, though (not online), but I've also seen them in DIY stores like OBI. We don't use that very often, though -- only when we need to clean it really well or there is stuff crusted onto the stovetop that we can't easily get off with a scraper.

I have also found these sponges (below) to work really well. They're made especially for ceramic stovetops. The larger Coop stores sell them (near the kitchen sponges), though I don't think it's the exact same brand as this one:

Before using any of the products, and once the hob is cold, spread a few layers of a cloth flat over the section you want to clean. Now pour a cup of water onto the cloth, or more if the cloth will hold it. It'll soak overnight, and you may find that, next morning, you'll be able to wipe quite a bit of any dirt off, directly, or using just a little pressure. This works especially well if you've happened to spill any food onto the glass, which burnt there.

Magic Eraser cleaning sponge. I tried everything, food was not on long or badly burned, but the marks stayed behind even after several different products.

These things did the trick for the tough spots.

I also use a special microfibre cloth that is very mildly abrasive, but I found it in a bargain shop back in Scotland.

+1 for the Glitzi sponge. Lots of cleaning stuff works - my current favorite is a cleaning cream from Coop oekoplan. Mr Muscle made one that was effective, but I can’t find it anymore. And hot water helps to loosen any cooked on mess.

For sponges, sometimes Mueller Drogerie has a lot of variety.

I’m curious about the magic eraser - does it scratch glass?

I find this is one of the best (and cheapest) products, for cleaning in the kitchen. Glass, steel and the oven are no problem. Bio-stein can be found in the Migros and Landi.

Glitzi is the only one to use. But ONLY when you want to get rid of all stains and crust. Its fairly ineffective after one use. But then it can be used for chrome/stainless steel. Pretty expensive product that has a short life.

I never let my cooker get to the crusty stage, having suddenly given up work to become a Hausfrau in Switzerland has turned me into a bit of a Stepford Wife

Its not so much a " crust". More like a stain in the ceramic. Only something strong like Glitzi removes it.

Well at least you have time to look after your own personal appearance

Coop bau hobby has quite a selection of items of different price ranges. I find Mellerud products to be good but a bit expensive.

Also not a cleaning agent but I clean stovetop usually with one of these:

May not help with everything but is very gentle and actually cleans well enough most of the time. Also not having to wear gloves while using it is a dealbreaker for me

I use normal dishwasher detergent most of the time (leaving it for 1'-30' for the agent to work). And from time to time if there are some stains I do employ stronger agents.

I bought Mellerud Backofen cleaner for my last apartment and found it pretty useless tbh. Got sucked into buying it by an infomercial I watched in a branch of Jumbo DIY that made it look great. It's stuck at the back of a cupboard in the hall now.

I use those brushes to clean my non-stick and ceramic pans (love that they're so gentle / non-abrasive). But I never thought of using one on my ceramic stove. Thanks for the tip.

After years of gas & electric hobs with 'yukkie' bits and bobs to clean, love ceramic hob, so easy to keep clean.

I take particular care by cleaning of bottoms of pots & pans, so nothing left there to stick to ceramic hob when cooking

Mr Muscle product 'hobrite' other brands do it, look for Orange colour bottle

We have had odd accident, like something melt on it, usually comes off over time, with gentle rubbing in between
