There are only a couple of companies who offer this cover but not an individual basis - just for largish companies. Unlike USA where you can buy such cover everywhere.
Do you really need such cover & what for? Most Swiss people have personal liability insurance which covers most of what is usually needed.
You may also be able to negotiate a fixed penalty with your customer rather than an open unlimited insurance liability, say 10% of contract value.

I am a research consultant (just starting...) and the Univiersity I will consult for in the UK requires that I have PI insurance. I got a quote for over 1000 GBP a year from a broker in the UK because I am not domiciled in the UK and other companies I tried did not even return my emails.
So I filled out the inquiry form on the Zurich website and they got right back to me. The policy is in German, but the guy was really helpful in explaining all the terms and finding the best policy for me... at around 200 CHF a year (it seems this rate depends on the nature of the work etc.). It was all sorted in an hour or so. If anyone needs his contact details because they are having issues, PM me. He even followed up with emails and he has me thinking that some insurance agents are really nice .... of course I'm buying, not trying to claim...
Yes, we deal with this sort of thing all the time and it is actually quite simple.
Our new devision has recently been set up purely for the english speaking and expat community here. Was the GCI the German document you received? Depending on the exact policy I most likely have an English version I can send you, if not, I'd like to know as it is one we will have to get translated and re-printed.
Best,
David.
I've sent you a PM regarding the policy document.
Thanks
I'm a Sports Therapist (a little similar to physiotherapist but just dealing with sports injuries) and I'm looking at setting up as self employed here in CH with the possibility of occasionally working outside the country.
I'm having trouble finding out about insurance. In the UK professional indemnity and public liability insurance is available through the Society of Sports Therapists, but here in CH the equivalent SVGS does not provide insurance.
Am I covered by my personal liability insurance? Or is it a case of contacting different insurance companies and seeing if they can give me a quote for such insurance?
Thanks
Best,
David
Zurich plc...um...I wasn't so impressed with how they responded to me, put it that way...
I am looking into this and my adviser only has it in German which is of no help. Could you assist or at least speak to me about it as I would like to get a cover as soon as possible. I tried to PM you but your box is full.
Thanks
