Now you can look forward to the first aid training, the Swiss theory test, the traffic school and then to the actual test. After you pass that you have 3 years provisional driving before you're a fully qualified driver permitted to accompany another learner driver.
I'm at the taking lessons/preparing for traffic school stage myself so I know it's a long drawn-out and expensive process!
My husband has a NZ full license but didn't think to change over his license earlier and now he will have to take a practical exam to change his license... he may have to take the first aid course too.
But there is no actual Swiss provisional license right? You can drive right away... just can't accompany another learner. NZ provisional licenses require that you can't drive between 10pm and 7am, and can't take any passengers (that was when I left the country of course... it may have changed since then).
By provisional license I meant after passing the practical exam is there a provisional time period (in NZ I believe it was normally 18 months), during which you may drive without an instructor or a person with a full license but you may not take other passengers and you may only drive during the regulated hours, before you acquire a full drivers license.
Sorry if I'm a little confused. I'm still working my way through all the threads on getting a license.
The Swiss licence is now provisional for 3 years (at least for younger drivers, not sure about age limits) after you get it and in that time you have to visit 2 full day driving courses. However there are no restrictions on passengers or times etc. However if you pick up too many or too bad infractions in that time you can loose the licence completely.
