Purchasing archery equipment

I am considering taking up something archery-related and looking to the future is it correct that bows and crossbows are NOT considered a "weapon" and can be purchased (either from CH or imported into CH) without any issue?

From p6 in the "Waffen in Kürze" PDF on weapons rules in the "Keine waffen sind" section here https://www.fedpol.admin.ch/dam/data...oschuere-d.pdf

Cheers.

I had always thought that crossbows were, but the document clearly states that they are not, so I don't see any problem.

My air guns are registered, though. (however, one is not)

Maybe you need to have the bolts for crossbows be considered a weapon. Unless you plan to club somebody to death with it.

Just shoot fondue forks!

I tried that but they are quite thin and difficult to aim at.

Or chicken.

My daughter does Chinese Archery. Her archery club will order bows (they get from Brazil) for club members they can keep at home. She doesn't know for sure, but she believes that you can order for yourself, but while transporting them, you must have them covered. Are you planning on joining some kind of club? What usage do you intend?

I'm sure bows are not, never had an interest in crossbows so I don't know. I'd recommend Bachofnerbogensport.ch if you fancy a look at equipment. They're a bit out of Zürich city but they have an excellent selection and I've always found them very friendly.

Good recommendation, seems like it has a ton of stuff to research, thanks! https://www.arrowforge.de/epages/631...672/Categories
