Question about drug testing and military service

Hi everyone. I tried looking up this information elsewhere however I couldn't find anything that would answer my question so i thought maybe you would be able to help me. I am a swiss citizen who is about to join the military service. I have my first orientation day coming up in a week where i will undergo some medical examinations. I am an occasional cannabis user and I am not sure if I will be drug tested during the orientation day. Perhaps one of you lovely people knows the answer?

Thanks in advance

According to my learned colleges at work, they don't test for drugs on the orientation day, but it could be that at some point when your doing military service that you are randomly tested. However nobody here can tell me what the consequences are if you test positive.

Basically lay off the dope at least 30 days before you're due to go into military service.

An old rugby buddy of mine said he re-learnt two things whilst on military service; playing poker and smoking dope .

If they did they could send approx one third back home.

But be aware sometimes the MP will do a raid with K9. Specially if some pot heads had a good time while on guard duty.

PS: THC-COOH can be detected in urine up to 12 weeks after the last smoke.

Hair

Up to 90 days (dependent on hair length tested)

When they shave your head and keep the hair in a ziplock bag ,your in shit

Thanks everyone for the replies and the tips! Didn't expect so much interest for this thread

Tip, shave your head first

My Brother in Law got to spend the weekend in Military prison after being drug tested... so it happens!

It's possible that they might test all your gear, but they'll only confiscate the good stuff.

BTW, that's the job you want, if you can get it ......... drugs tester.

You really need to watch this movie it should answer all your questions

I knew someone who did grass so they wouldn't give him his chosen military service option of driving trucks.

Fair enough, except he then went on to Stinger ground-to-air missile defense.

Awesome set of priorities!

Now they get the missiles even higher

I think you'll be fine as long as you're not actually carrying any pot around with you / are caught smoking it during military duty...

Most my friends that smoke and serve military service never actually reported an issue with it.

Britney Spears tried that.
