Question about Stadium front row seating for concert

Hello !!

Can someone explain this please?

I'm keen on getting the best seats(front row or in the first few rows) for this concert at St Jakobshalle, Basel.

I'm confused as to why most of the front row seats (CHF 104) are not yet bought, whereas all the tickets after row 6 (also CHF 104) are all booked. Its been this way since more than a month.

Please see attachment .Do note, the entire sector E1 and E2 costs 104CHF per seat.

Is it not a good view from the very front? Wouldn't one grab the front row seats first?

Thanks !!

Front rows suck from an acoustic point of view.

Tom

Is it though?

I don't know who is playing at this particular concert or how it is organized, or how the venue is set up, but often you have a standing area in front of the stage so that people can come forward and dance along to the music, or just stand and listen, or do whatever. So if you're sitting in a front row you just have a seat behind people who are standing, so in other words possibly you see nothing at all.

No,no !! This is not the case !!

At first, I brushed aside st2lemans reply, but on google-ing a bit more, his answer is the right one.

Thank you!!

Yep, it is like listening to music at home while you sit in front of one of your speakers.

What you see as sold could be a block booking by a tour operator.

But, Tom is right, the sound isn’t that good that close.

We had front row tickets at Montreax, great views - of the TV Cameras panning back and forth in front of us.

If you want the best sound, sit somewhere near the mixing console operators, they have that spot for a reason.

Tom

P.S. A couple years ago, our reserved seats were changed as the sound engineers had planted their stuff in the seats I had chosen.

Please don't tell people about this.

in which case they should show up as sold, not as available.
