That's what I have. I listen to Couleur3 in the morning when I'm getting up ( to get the local news) and in the car but otherwise I use Internet radio.
Thanks to the somewhat dated playlists it has been much easier to properly "culture" my children, although have had to rely on itunes for the all-important 70's (Had everyone singing "Seasons in the Sun" last week )
We still have some remedial gymnastics to cover though - don't they teach kids how to do a somersault anymore?
Listening to swiss Radio reminds me of Radio Norfolk back in the 80's. They had maybe a total of 15 records, of which 3 of them were scratched.
I've long given up with radio here as a means to hear new music - The internet is really the only viable scource of discovering new bands and music, which unfortunately doesn't help the OP.
They do here much to my son's disgust. They even had a test on them with a grade and everything which he was most annoyed about as being rather tall and gangly he's pretty bad at them.
I searched for some of the stations mentioned here and it wouldn't tune in -_-
I've given up, we'll just stream Radio1 from the UK when we get our own internet!
At the moment I have put on SRF3 (one of the few stations I can get) and I am SURE it is playing the exact same songs in the same order as we heard the other day when I started this thread...
about an hour ago I heard an old Nelly Furtado song (say what you want) then a little while after that something recent-ish (katy perry dark horse i think, or something like that) then a while afterwards there was some 1990's Britpop indie track I forget which now; then song before last it was Foster the People, pumped up kicks. NOW they are playing some late 80's RnB pop thing
I have a really, really strong sense of deja-vu from these! If they play TLC Waterfalls and Nothing Compares 2U later I'll be certain about this
SRF 3 plays a lot of new artists and special evening features (regae, rock ,blues, etc). Mixed in with charts of course.
At home I stream SRF Virus via Internet radio. Lots of varied, new and indie artists, with some home-grown gems thrown in (Rival Kings, 7 dollar taxi, my heart belongs to cecilia winter, etc).
Looked through this thread... Not sure there was a clear parallel to radio 1/capital fm from the UK.
Disappointed by radio zurichsee and radio 24, Pilatus as well pretty hit and miss. they have made 80/20 old stuff (90s or earlier) vs current charts. I'm after maybe 10% 90s/50% 00s/40% more recent. And yes I could listen to UK radio but want the schwizer deutsch.
So far some of the srf3 podcasts seem best option but I'm old school and used to live radio :/
Can anyone help? I was subjected to Madonna and mj in the space of an hour the other day!
