Being English, I'm genetically constructed to find satisfaction in talking about the weather.
Anyway, these crazy storms we're having with thunder and lightening and the sound of rain falling into the fireplace and the look of it cascading in sheets across my window pane... well, it pleases me mightily!
It's quite romantic, is it not?
Are you into it too? What is your favourite weather?
This is my favourite weather. Clear, blue skies continuously, tend to bore me. I love the drama and the noise of a stormy day, and I hope it keeps up for the whole weekend!
I hope it rains abundantly all over Switzerland, goodness knows we need the water for the crops. And I am also very partial to a thunderstorm, although not the hail - it spoils the strawberries.
As much as the blue skies and sun are nice, you can't beat a good thunder storm - I love them. "Yes, I like Pina coladas and gettin' caught in the rain!" ...and other (cheesy) classics singing the praises of rain .
I'm looking forward to walking with my daughter in the rain to the train station.
As for smells...the smell of ozone before a lightening storm...pure excitement. The best are in SE Asia during monsoon. In Malaysia they have these gutters by the side of the road 3 feet across and 6 feet deep and they get almost instantly filled by the rain. Amazing.
However, I love it when I can watch the mist swirl over the lake and up and around Rigi - absolutely beautiful. It often just sits there in swathes, like tinsel around a Christmas tree.
On the other hand, I also love the mad weather that sometimes occurs in the dot in the Med where I also live - furiously strong winds that take your breath away and tropical rain that floods the island in 30 minutes!!
