RAW food [for pets]

Hi

I'm planning to go on vacation to täsch and take my dog

But my dog eats RAW food (minced meat and bones)

Is there a shop in or near täsch that sells RAW food?

I'm staying for 2 weeks so i cant take it all with me

Sounds like a butcher would be just the right thing. THe village looks big enough to have a local butcher.

How do you meen?

I'm just looking for a shop that sells food that is good for my dog while i'm on vacation

Swiss RAW meat is very suitable for all animals, and can be found in all Swiss shops. We also have good cheese, which is also sold to humans, and all dogs love.

Here's a list of butchers in the area

Thnx tom1234

That would be an option if theres no shop that sells raw dog food ( it had a bit more in it than just meat and bones, like vitamines and so)

@sbrinz

Dutch chees is better :-p

And i assume you don't have a dog, or you just don't know what a dog supose to eat

Don't assume. I have a Barbet dog asleep next to me right now.

Cheese is good for them, but it is fattening. The dog owner is a Dutch national.

Here she is, "Dodo von Sulimo" a proud mum with her 8 puppies, (Turn the sound down, the music is terrible)

In my opinion a good quality dog food is better than a BARF diet, which is why dogs live much longer now,

Several sources here:

Giving pets raw food

What kind of accomodation will you have - will you have your own kitchen/fridge so that you can store and prepare the food yourself? If so, any butcher will have what you need. (Bring your own supplements - what you are used to using might not be the same as what is available here.) Do be aware that butcher prices will be higher than you are used to...

If prep is a problem where you are staying, would frozen raw work for your dog?

I believe Meiko and perhaps Qualipet (large-ish chain stores) sell frozen raw. Certainly Goldenway, a small independent, does:

Worst case, ask at any local pet store - if they don't have a frozen raw likely they can direct you to a retailer who does.

FYI, a few raw feeders I know use Ziwipeak when traveling - this is not raw, but a dehydrated food, convenient for travel. Available in Switzerland here:

Hope you find a solution that works.

Thnx meloncollie!

Sorry for asumming :-)

There are heavy taxes on importing fresh or frozen (unprocessed) meat into Switzerland: only the first 500 gram is free,

the rest is charged at about €18 per kilo!!! So it's best to buy the meat here!

Thnx for that info
