Hey all,
I'm wondering if anyone had any recommendations for real estate agents for the Zurich city area?
I've been looking at several immobilien websites like homegate etc but the problem is I work full time and have a lot of other commitments taking up my time so it's difficult to find time to visit all of the flats listed.
It's my hope that working with a real estate agent would help me make better use of my time as well as maybe find some flats more suited to what I'm looking for.
If it makes a difference, I'm looking for an Einzelwohnung, ideally 1-1-5 rooms in Zurich city. Not looking to rent a room in a WG.
Thanks everyone
Try Top Relocations managed by Ms. Barbara Hofer at
www.toprelocation.ch Barbara is a very energetic, well-connected lady. Swiss, but with expat experience herself. Helped us greatly with the move, in particular with landing a great flat. Good luck!!
Privera is one.
there is a guy called chris.. If you find their direct number, you can ask for him at the main hotline number. Privera.ch
Zurich Relocation also offers this service, I only talked with them once, they seemed to know what they were talking about, but in the end I went with Ms. Hofer from Top Relocations, as recommended in this thread. Thank you for that, by the way!
Thanks for the responses everyone.
Unfortunately Top Relocation is far too expensive for my purposes. The quoted price for a single is CHF3'800. My budget for monthly rent is around CHF1500, I'm not going to pay more than 2x my monthly rent on a real estate agent.
I'll look into the others and of course keep looking on websites like homegate etc.
Thanks!
First of all, you should understand that a real estate agent is NOT the same as a relocation agent. Real estate agents have property listings. Their fee is paid by the landlord. Real estate agents represent the owner's/landlord's interest.
A relocation agent is someone who works for you. I think you will find in Zurich that the home search fees quoted will not vary widely.
Very little has been posted here regarding relocation agency fees as most EF members are not paying personally and many have no idea about the fees billed to their company.
That quote is off their website.
They typically offer a rate equivalent to 1 month's rent if you are paying direct (ie your company is not picking up the cost).
It's worth sending them an email if you think that is more in your price range.
Most relocation companies will have pre made packages, and then if you want something very specific, you can get them to help you at an hourly rate. The hourly rate for Zurich relocation was 130 Fr. and the one for Top Relocations is 150 Fr. (both excluding VAT).
In my case, I only needed help with the rental agreement and post agreement set up, so I went with the hourly rate.
I'm in the middle of this (have the contract but haven't sent it back) but when it is all over I'd like to tell the story of how I got this flat, if I can find the right corner of the forum to do so.
