Recommended Vineyard 'experience' ?

I'm looking to organise a trip in the autumn to a vineyard for 10 to 15 people. We're looking for something like a guided tour and then a wine tasting.

Some of the party will be using public transport so reachable by train/bus from Basel. And for us drivers no more than 30 mins from the border. We'd be staying over night before and after the visit. So nearby accommodation is needed.

Any recommendations ?

Alsace or Germany would work.

There is a vineyard next to weil am rhein:

Lots of vinyards in Switzerland.

I’d recommend Alsace as it is simply stunningly beautiful.

My British in-laws are big fans of the Domaine Albert Mann near Colmar. It’s a bit further than you requested, but Colmar, Obernai, and all the surrounding villages are drop-dead gorgeous, and the food is amazing.

Yep and in previous years that's what we did. This year we want to try something different

Riquewihr is special for wine tasting … we hiked up through the vineyards while buzzed, I am sure they have official tours too.

Famille Hugel was my favorite:

Schloss Salenegg in Maienfeld

We did the wine blending experience and they did it in English for us. It was incredible and great value. Highly recommended and probably one of the most unique wine experiences in what is claimed to be the oldest constantly used vineyard.

Most of us have done tastings and had barrels explained to us, but whos had all of that plus blending of 6 barrels, bottling and taking home?
