I was at new to me recycle bins and thought one of the bins was for paper goods. Turns out it was only for the bags that you bring your recycling in! There were other items in the bin (doesn't look like normal recycling or trash bin) such as paper and pizza box, but I just thought it was for paper recycling. I threw a few items in there- envelopes, random papers and was happy I could recycle paper there. Then I realized that the envelopes have my name on them and the box is only for the bags. What would you do? I can't fish the paper out! Will I get fined?
I would say, just learn from the mistake and move on

I'd just leave it. If you get fined, you can go to the Commune and explain. They will see your registration date, and that you are new to the area.
