Recycling Light Fixtures and Floor Lamps

Dear Forum Members,

I have been unable to find out where, and I know it probably depends on the canton, to dispose of light fixtures and floor lamps? Do I use the large object vignettes and place near the waste or take to Interdiscount/Fust or something else?

Thanks for any tips… Much appreciated!

Varies massively between kantons and communes, there’s no overall rule,

In principal I would be looking for a dechetterie/recycling centre, which I would take things to myself, by car; but that’s based on my experiences of living outside of major towns and cities and I know it’s different in some places. Ask your local commune/gemeinde.

Take them to any shop that sells lights, if there are a lot then make several trips

I go often to recycling paradise at Spreitenbach. They have containers for everything, (including fluro tubes, bulbs, etc) and I think light fittings are free to through out (class as electrical items).

I don’t know where you live but we accept and sell all sorts of second hand electronic items and cables at BrockiZug (by the Ökihof in Zug with profits going to a local charity). I’m sure there will be other places that do similar.
