REKA card Termination fee

Hi all,

I'm about to trigger the termination of the REKA card and account and I see on the Termination Form that there is a 10CHF fee which is deducted from the account.

However I don't have a balance on the REKA to pay that at the moment.

On the phone the customer service tells me that if I don't have money on the account they WILL NOT CHARGE the termination fee.

That sounds great and odd at the same time

Do you have experience with that?

Shall I trust the customer service and skip charging the card before closing the account?

CHF10? Anything they did in an attempt to claw this back would cost them a lot more than 10 times that amount.

The 10 CHF is the fee for sending you the outstanding balance in physical reka checks. Does not apply if the balance is less than 10 chf.
