Relex Smile - Eye Surgery

There are some threads on the forum relating to LASIK but does anyone have any experience with Relex Smile? It is a newer type of corrective surgery which can cure short sightedness.

This looks like the answer to my prayers because cutting a flap in my cornea is a huge no no*

*Statistics shmatistics.. don't care

I just came across this by chance on YouTube but it does look very promising.

I've done quite a lot of reading on this, and am most likely going to go for LASIK.

Most of the differences come down to LASIK being more mature - probably in five years SMILE would be the better option.

- LASIK has a better accuracy rate 95% vs 85% for SMILE

- SMILE can't fix astigmatism - so any result would not be as good for me

- SMILE does have advantages in avoiding dry eyes and complications from the flap

Of course the information depends which option the clinic prefers to sell you but averaging out the biased opinions seems to give the above.
