Remove chilli sauce from my tshirt

Managed to throw half my kebab down me the other night over a white tshirt, god knows what i must of looked like, noone mentioned it after as i was standing there chatting

Anyone know what i look for in local supermarkets, i guess i need some sort of stain remover?

I am by no means any sort of washing guru, but for these sort of things:

Go to the Coop and buy a pink tub of stuff called "Vanish"

(It's bright pink- doubt you'll miss it)

make a slurry out of the powder with some hot water and rub it (gently) onto the stain.

Let the slurry soak right in - BUT DON'T let it dry out (so 5mins or so)

Fill a bucket with hotwater and a spoon (provided in the pink tub) of the Vanish.

Soak the shirt over night.

Put the shirt through a long cycle wash.

This is my trick for almost everything - usually works

(Thanks Grandma - as if I'd think of this).

Hope someone else has other methods that work - I'd like to know.

I recently had to get an old red wine stain out of something and I used a product from Ariel *I think*. it was located where the detergents are, and there is like a series of this product, all in black....and I seem to remember the name was from a regular wash company.

I think the whole line is for taking stains out, but I got a small pen that has some liquid in it, and I put that over the stain and left it for an hour before washing.

it all came out.

there is also a powder product that is also sold near the washing section of the shops. they are small bottles (like 100ml maybe) and there are a few types, they all have pics on them so you can see what they would work for. I used the one for red wine as well (get through a lot of red wine at my place) and it also worked amazingly, but me thinks it needs to be applied immediatly to work as well.

hope that made sense and you can find what it is I refer to. when I get home I can update this with the names

Hi,

Have you tried gall soap? Sounds disgusting (smells even worse), but is very effective on stains of all kinds.

Rub it over the t-shirt, let it soak overnite.

Available at Coop's or Migros.

Good luck!

Ricarda

Theres a product called ace which is quite effective.

My personal rememdy has always been to cover the stain with a nice strong hair-shampoo (head and shoulders was always good back home). Place the item flat in the sink, and pour HOT water from a kettle from a high height onto the stain.

No idea if it's a good idea, or only one of the steps is required, but I don't have any stained clothes, and a meal seldomly goes by where I don't spill.

Thanks v much, yeah those bottles of powder sound like "Stain devils" guess they're under a swiss name here. Will have a look for them on way home tonight. I have some clit bang with me, may use as last resort.

Go to the chemists - I know Sun Store stocks them. Ask for Dr. Beckmann stain removers. They come in little blue bottles of liquid. There's a whole range of them each dedicated to a particular stain. Number 7 I think is for tomato sauce. They have ones for red wine, blood, ink etc. All the usual culprits. Works a treat for us.

You might want to rephrase that

ooooh sounds painful

i use an amaerican product called oxiclean (maybe u heard of it)--works like magic! don't know if available over there tho?
