Hello, I recently renewed my permit (B) but went on holiday. Forgot to tell the Post to hold my mails. It tried to deliver while I was away and when I came back it already went back to the sender. I cannot see the address of the sender on the yellow notification slip. Did anybody experience similar things? Do they just go back to the cantonal migration office and am I able to get it back?
Couldn't do anything right now because of the weekend ahead. I would start by asking the local immigration office and I guess it takes a while to nail the exact sender. But it would be really appreciated if anybody already knows how.
And by the way, I currently live in Vaud (ignore my profile) and my previous permit came from Lausanne. But this one is from Zurich, Egg (from the tracking history) which looks strange and is there a non-obvious place where I need to contact?
I'd recommend that you start with the office to which you made the application for your permit, and ask them what to do. And I'd suggest that you phone them. Have all your paperwork (application, details of previous permit, any reference numbers) ready.
Gotcha! Yeah I was probably overthinking when I saw it come from a different canton super far away (Zurich). My immediate imagination was that the address is some special purpose office hidden somewhere that sends massive amount of permits of different cantons, or maybe even the factory that made my permit . Will definitely start making phone calls on Monday.
