Rent a house in Switzerland

Hello!

How much a 5 room house rent cost? for example in a village.

can we find a normal house in near 2000 frank?

Use this website to judge what you can get for what price. It covers all CH and gives alot of info on rental/buying/taxation rates and much more.

www.homegate.ch

Has anyone tried home.ch We just found our new place on there and I think their setup is better than t'other.

Try this , and adjust the name of the town / city, budget etc.

I think it really depends on the location. If it's in the village I'm living right now I don't think 2000 CHF is enough for 5 rooms.

The standard for 3 rooms is CHF 1600-1900/month.

The online sites are good to know about the price range but not really effective in renting them.

I would also suggest to try contacting the local agent rather than the big online ones, because what happen in my case was the apartments that were advertised there are no longer available.

What I did then I contacted several local agents by e-mail describing the criteria that I needed and then they'll give me a list of what they got then I can set up a time to visit the apartment before deciding on renting anything. Because sometimes, according to my experience the condition is 'slightly' different then what is advertised

Leysin and Leytron are very different....

It may not be so easy but i guess Chf 2000.-- maybe enough to find a 5 room house in Leytron.

Make sure you understand the additional costs! I found when renting an apartment that most things were included in the rent but fewer things were included in the house rent - like, for example, water & sewage charges.

yes we calculate the other charges.

Thank you everyone for the answeres, they are very usefull and it makes one step closer to us to move to Switzerland

Hi,

My neighbours are renting out their house just outside Zug. For a furnished 5.5 room house in a small community, they are asking for 3700 plus additional charges of 375 per month. However, they are offering it furnished and only for a limited time (April 2012 to October 2013). I think that 2000 is probably too little for a house of this size even if not furnished.

Good luck!

Me thinks it slightly better but to be honest they are both poorl

It depends entirely on location - here in the Jura, it would be possible- but nowhere near Zurich, Zug, Lausanne, Geneva.

That`s cheap for a house in Kanton Zug. I doubt they will have any trouble moving that. Do you mind what village?

Hi there

another website to look for housing is www.immoscout24.ch

And yes, it really depends on where you want to rent. Like anything close to a big city like Zurich or Geneva will be expensive.

We are renting in a village about 30-40 mins. out of Zurich and are paying CHF 4500 for a 6 1/2 room townhouse.

Also be careful, the rooms are counted differently here. they do count the lounge as one of the rooms, so if it says 5 rooms, then its only 4 bedrooms.

Hope this helps.
