Rent Compensation for water damaged cave?

Dears, we had a flood in our basement in October. The management company have been slow to fix this issue, with several contractors not being able to find the problem or fix it. Finally something was done and there is no more leaks.

However, the basement is still damp, humid and everything and smells of mould. They have now provided a dehumidifier but it may take several weeks for the humidity to be totally removed. We have claimed for replacing items from our insurance company, who had paid our with no issue. We are asking the management company now to compensate us for two things: 1. removal of moulded, damaged items (almost everything in the basement needs to thrown out) 2. Rental compensation as the basement is not usable since October and may still not be for several weeks.

Anyone with any experience? I have an appointment with ASLOCA in two weeks, but I was hoping to hear of anyone has had a similar situation and managed to receive compensation from their management company?

Many thanks in advance.

Don’t forget the electricity to run the dehumidifier.

we had this issue in my last new build, it took around 6 months but they ran dehumidifers, provided a huge container for everything to be disposed of and then gave everyone 2k in compensation for the inconvenience . None of my possessions were damaged but i think that was dealt with by insurance for those who lost items.
