Rent suit for wedding in Basel

Hi everybody,

I arrived to Switzerland one week ago and I ́m getting married the next April. I have been following the page and I have got really useful tips before my coming. I’m sure that I ́ll be more participative once I get some experience in the country

I realized some days ago that, in my stress, I brought the wrong suit from Mexico and now I don’t have anything to use in my wedding.

I have been checking in internet but I would like to know if any of you would recommend me a place in Basel or the surrounding (including the French border) where I could rent something formal to use in a morning wedding.

If you already have a suit which you like, it is probably cheaper to mail it over than it is to rent a suit locally.

Are you after a standard suit, a tuxedo, or morning dress?

Hi Village Nice buddy! Indeed, that was a great idea that crossed my mind but my suit is not available anymore (it got stolen somehow).

So far I have checked for elegant suit, nothing complicated. Is the typical suit with the under vest and tie.

I have been traveling where my budget and time are allowing me to go, checked in Mulhouse, Lörrach, Saint-Louis at the moment and found really great places like Pronuptia in Molhouse or WIRU in Saint-Louis but severely expensive (around 650-800 euros).

This week I ́ll be visiting Kostüm Kaiser wishing that a miracle happen.

Have you tried googling to see if there's a clothing outlet near you?

I can't help you directly with addresses as I don't know the area, but it looks like there are a few near Basle.

Hi! Just to close this discussion and leaving it as an advice for future similar questions, I ended up doing the following:

The day of the wedding was getting closer and my time and money were shrinking so I ended up at Kostüm Kaiser renting a suit.

It is located at Aesh (final station of Tram 11), the personnel at the place were extremely efficient and friendly (my German is limited and we understood each other very well), it cost around 240 CHF (including everything, even the cufflinks. mmmm, shoes not included), and the most important is that they had my size (I'm a big person).

Now I'm happily married looking through the next phase in Switzerland.
