renting tools

Hola!

Home Depot in the USA rents out tools for one-time works. I need a hammer drill and a bunch of bits and it's an economical and ecological waste for me to buy the equipment.

Any shop in Switzerland or Zurich offers such service?

Jumbo, maybe? I'm not sure, but that would be my first place to look. Barring this (and if nobody else on EF has the answer), I'd go to your nearest hardware/tool store and ask the clerk.

You can rent tools from Migros.

I can find it on the French part of the website but not on the German version (as my German is poor to very poor).

From this page, someone who speaks German should be able to find the page that tells you which stores rent tools in the ZH area. I know they rent hammer drills.

Both the Migros and Coop DIY shops rent out tools.

Not sure what they're called in german, it's bricolage in french.

Crossed with Verbier...

I think Glasson Materiaux do, but I don’t think they have a base in your part of the country. Maybe Obi might do?

Try searching on www.local.ch for hardware/tool stores in your area and see what comes up.

You could also ask your neighbours. Normally someone has a hammer drill and bits.

Be ready with a nice bottle of red when you return the drill.

I have hammer, drill and if you tell me what else you need I might have it too. You are welcome to use it. They are no hardcore professional things, its the ones you can buy in Ikea but so far they have served me very well. I live in the zurichberg, not so far from hb. You can pickup at my place and drop off at my place once you are finished.

A hammer drill?

Obi rents tools as well. I found renting for the period of time required ( a weekend) was more expensive than buying a basic (budget quality) tool, which I still have and use regularly. Drills are not high tech devices. I'm getting by with an OK brand hammer drill. For other tools it is worth getting big name brands.

Coconut, you're an amazing example of how Switzerland rolls

Thank you. I'm abroad ATM but will ping you when I'm back.

Anybody, how can I 'thank' posts?

Viva Mexica!

I have a lot of tools , D.I,Y / car repair ,anybody welcome to borrow.
