Reporting a dangerous driver - anyone done it?

Thanks for the info Sean & Rob!

Ooops where was this lol

Well I know someone has watched the video that was reported but nobody has contacted me.

This suggests to me that...

a) There's enough information in the video and my account is not necessary

b) They watched it and thought I was complaining like a girl

At this point, I don't expect to be contacted. As I have not been hit by the car, I expect that person's privacy now to be important for the traffic office people and thus I may never know.

But I feel I did the right thing. Doing 80-100kph in a built-up area is a no-no in my opinion.

They were confused as they did not expect James Bond to ever make a complaint, being licensed to kill, they would imagine you could sort it out yourself

The Aston was in the garage, Miss Moneypenny

I did NOT say that you were complaining like a girl!

Tom

story in 20.min reminded me of this thread.

guy records and then sends the video to the cops on a weekly basis.

they are not happy about this and then bang on that using the camera and filming people without their knowledge is illegal etc etc

1 day before plod was very happy to have had dash cam footage of a guy overtaking then smashing into another car.

double standards but only when its convenient.

Why you have camera in you car? Homepolice?

it's not illegal.

I have a camera in my car because I see this as the way to go. You hit me, we can see who's to blame. You say I went through a red light? I'll say yes or no. I see silly things? Post them on YouTube

Have a read of the article, no im not going to.put the link as its on the main page.

I have 2 cams anyway 1 front 1 back .

You don't need a calibrated speed camera to measure speed.

Take two fixed points such as a lamppost to lamppost, or a road sign. Measure carefully, then apply the following:-

speed = distance/time

Apply 20% racer discount.

Admittedly not evidence grade, but I'd say it's enough to be a caution.
