Does anyone knows what are the requirements to become a dog sitter in Zurich? I just moved from the USA and my family visa doesn't allow me to work. I could walk and take care of dogs since I own 2 myself, but I'm hesitant since I don't know if it would be illegal to do that without any specific permit.

Which course you will need to take depends on the type of service you intend to offer and the number of dogs cared for.
Also, it would be a good idea to research insurance issues.

Just saw the bit about your visa not allowing you to work. Are you asking about offering dog care for payment - which would be work, and so permit issues might come into play - or for free?
If you are caring for dogs for free, there is no requirement to take the courses.
Are your two dogs with you here in Switzerland? If so, you likely need to do the SKN classes anyway - and these are the classes you'd need for small-scale dog care. With the SKN you would be allowed to offer care for up to 5 dogs...

Are you sure it doesn’t allow work period. Or is it that it just doesn’t at the moment. As a non-EU you’d be subject to the hiring rules for non-EU nationals which means you’re last in the jobs queue. However, if you can find an employer willing to go through the hoops to get permission then you may be able to work. Check with your cantonal migration office to see if there’s a possibility of changing it should you find someone willing to apply on your behalf via a job offer.
