residense/work permit for Albanians

hi to all of you,

I would like some information because I want to move in Switzerland.

by education I am a environmental engineer,(aquaculture and fishing management) but as I live in Albania is very difficult to find the right job and finally I took sales&marketing management direction. For about 10 years I am Regional Sales Manager (FMCG),actually from 4 years I'm working for international brands like Ferrero,Haribo,Lazzaroni etc..

Simultaneously I am also upholster specialist for pool & billiards,I can say the best in Albania.(18 years successful experienced)

I am married with a daughter.She's 3 years.

My wife is bio-chemistry and pharmacy educations,2 master diplomas.

Can someone orient me how/where to apply for a job in Switzerland, better with my Sales manager career or upholster specialist?what is the better way?

as I know the Albanian citizens can move free throw EU countries but only for 3 month.

I hope someone help me to find the right persons and the right way how to come and find a job in Switzerland.

thank you in advance,

why switzerland? there are a lot of Albanians here and as i observe, swiss people do not like so much albanians (actually almost hate as I heard from them..)

I advice you, better to go north European countries..

As a non-EU/EFTA citizen, you'll be considered last in line for vacancies after EU/EFTA people, so unless you can bring some rare skills to the table and interest a company enough for it to jump through bureaucratic hoops and loops of hiring a non-EU, forget about it. There's no lack of sales managers here, besides your lack of fluency in a local language will be a major obstacle in this field. No idea about upholstery, seem niché, but chemistry background of your wife might land her a job at some big swiss pharma - they're constantly fishing for talent worldwide, then she can legally take you with her. It wouldn't allow you to work initially, but after a few years here when you get a better permit, or after getting a swiss degree, you too can finally get a job without being discriminated for non-EU passport

Sorry, but unlikely to be able to get a permit here. As ivank said, you’re last in the hiring queue behind Swiss/EU nationals and there are plenty of sales managers and probably upholsters who would be ahead of you in terms of hiring. It also costs any Swiss employer time and money to make an application for a permit on your behalf so unless they think they have a good chance of getting it they won’t bother to apply. The non-EU hiring criteria is outlined here.

Also there is more emphasis being placed on hiring people who already live and work in Switzerland since the vote back in 2014 to curb immigration from the EU.

Your wife may stand a better chance with one of the pharma companies, but you’d be unlikely to be able to work immediately - still that depends on what type of permit she may get.

Also remember that Switzerland in not part of the EU. What you can do in an EU country doesn’t necessarily apply here.
