Wouldn’t cross my mind to throw my napkin into the plate.
Leaving a napkin on a plate wouldn’t bother me that much if I were working in a restaurant. The worst I’ve seen (alarmingly regularly actually) are people who blow their nose on the linen napkin and leave that out for the staff to collect.
Simples, request a paper napkin if you have no manners.
Btw 4.- for a linen napkin seems very inexpensive.
