You probably know me by threads about my Visa venture to marry my Canadian girlfriend here. Time of wedding is fianlly coming.

Do you know a Restaurant to celebrate on 'the coast' with view on the lake between Geneva and Lausanne ?

There is a really nice restaurant with a gorgeous outside terrace past Lausanne in Chexbres called "Le Deck". Too far?

To clarify, are you looking for a venue to have a romantic dinner with the wife-to be, or are you looking for a place to celebrate with a larger group of people?

As MiniMia said, Le Deck at the Baron Tavernier is stunning (if the weather is good) but the cost of dinner for two is already cringe-inducing, I'd never take a group there. (It's also not quite in the geographic region you asked for.)

If you could be a bit more specific as to what you're looking for, I'll try to come up with a few more suggestions.

Restaurant du lac in Versoix is very good

I agree that Restaurant du Lac in Versoix is nice.

Also Hotel du Lac's La Rò‚tisserie in Coppet is very nice and perhaps a bit more charming.

La Clef d'Or in Bursinel is nice with a fantastic view of the vineyards and lake.

Not on the lake, but an amazing lake view and good food at http://www.lesplanade.ch/ - Aubonne, closer to Lausanne then Geneva.

Actually went to La Clef d'Or in Bursinel. I strongly recommend it. Beautiful view on the lake, good food and excellent service. For around 150CHF per person you have the full monty.

My first restaurant meal in Europe some years ago, fresh off the plane at Cointrin, was at http://www.hoteldelaplage.info/ .

Also has hotel rooms and think you can eat/drink well for chf 75.-/head.

Recommendation; Filet de Perches - with SAUCE MAISON , not the meuniere sauce, unless that is your liking.

Perhaps better to go and visit the establishment to make sure view sufficient.
